Be Proud to Read Aloud
One of the best ways to engage elementary school children also happens to be one the easiest: reading aloud. Below are videos with Georgia judges and a list of books that fit nicely with the 2020 civics theme of the women’s suffrage movement. August 18, 2020 is the 100th year anniversary! Grab book, play a video and follow along. Copy and paste the title and author into your search bar to find a bookseller.
In the document here, the Georgia Department of Education has provided some excellent ideas for teachers and/or parents to help engage children when reading aloud.
