Cobb County Mental Health Court recognized three graduates on April 29th, 2021. Instead of incarceration, these men went through an intensive rehabilitation course to focus on taking accountability for their actions while receiving treatment to handle substance abuse and mental health issues. The three graduates spoke about how their experience in this program equipped them for their futures with two of the men now holding steady jobs and one graduating from college this summer. They expressed their gratitude for the Mental Health Court giving them a second chance to turn their lives around by helping them gain sobriety and find their purpose in life. One graduate who will soon be finishing his time at Kennesaw State University remarked, “Although today is a commencement to celebrate an ending, I view today as a celebration of a new beginning.”
