Court Interpreting in Focus at Georgia’s COCI Orientation Workshop
The Georgia Standing Committee on Court Interpreters (COCI )and the Administrative Office of the Courts conducted a successful, interactive 2-day COCI Orientation Workshop on May 8-9. The 30 attendees—20 spoken language interpreters and 10 American Sign Language (ASL) interpreters—received a good introduction to legal interpreting. Participants engaged in sessions covering interpreter ethics, Georgia court proceedings, sight and simultaneous translation, and interactive role play.
